Story Bridge Ghosts  The Story Bridge is a testament to man’s ingenuity, but few are aware of the terrible cost that was paid for its construction.
 Work on the bridge began during the Great Depression of the 1930s. It provided hope and employment for hundreds of men however the work was extremely dangerous. Some died when underground chambers flooded, others fell from the dizzying heights.
 The Story Bridge is said to be the home of a solemn ghost. Long time painters of the bridge have repeatedly seen a ghostly figure standing on the top of the bridge, its grey face staring down to the waters below.
