Toowoomba Health Kick

Queensland Weekender

Since the start of the 19th Century, the city of Toowoomba has been an escape for those from the coast. Due to the drier conditions and milder temperatures, it has been traditionally thought of as a ‘health retreat’ from the humidity and congestion of the coast.

There are a number of ways to enjoy a modern day health kick in Toowoomba. The Salt Caves on James Street allow guests the opportunity to try salt therapy. The salt cave is lined with 14 tonnes of Himalayan salt and visitors can relax in comfortable chairs for the 45 minute session.

Another healthy Toowoomba pit stop is Pump Café on Toowoomba’s Russel Street. There is a range of healthy options on the menu and the specials board. There is also a gourmet deli of local ingredients to browse.

However the best way to make the most the health benefits the Toowoomba region is to stay a while. There are many cottages, cabins and retreats ready to welcome guests.
